Winter Break: CVR
Things done in the winter break:
- Post-processing
- Finalising Bee following camera
- Tutorial scene ( Not completed)
- Adding sound
unfortunately, I was not able to do all the tasks that I wanted to do over the break due to personal problems. Which means I lost a lot of time and unfortunately won’t have time to complete all the goals that I put myself at the beginning of the module. Uncompleted Goals :
- Trigger Area for different space of the garden
- Player able to shoo the bee away
- Tutorial scene
However, the things that I was able to do ow the break really helped me in terms of finalising the environment of the garden for example the post-processing really enhances the dreamlike and fantasy of the garden. Especially, using the warm tones to bring colour and vibrancy to the plant and trees. The only problem with having this much post-processing there will be a decline in quality and jittering with physically moving.

I also was able to adding the bee with it’s buzzing audio and have it follow the player, there was a lot of trouble in aligning the bee to the players eyes and having it big enough to be distracting.
I had a the idea of adding a tutorial/introduction scene before the VR experience as a for the player to prepare and get used of the controllers and know how to navigate and I though it would be a good contrast from preparing to know what’s happening to being distracted in the experience.
When making the UI panel I though of different ways to transition from one scene to the another scene, however when attempting to do so it would fail in my playtest.
CVR Module Reflection:
It was a learning curve for me and took me a lot longer than I though for me to make a functional VR experience, however it am pleased with the outcome though simple in concept I was able to to focus of the level design and how to translate my ideas in VR, If I had more time I would want to add trigger areas in the oasis for that when a player is at curtain spot there something that happens and have the player be able to shoo the bee away. Nether the less, in the next module my goal is to focus on having more technical challenged as I first shied away from it which I believe hailed my improvement of this VR experience but now know feel comfortable.
