Changes:
I felt unsatisfied with the first story draft as I felt as though it was not conveying the message that I wanted in the story and as stated before I didn’t really liked the idea that the player was not fully involved in the story only spectating it. The changes that I made was first the player are there own embodied character that interacts with the Mimi and the world, the reason being is because if the player has the first person point of view compared to third person point of view where they are spectating it make less of an impact.
With the addition of the player being one of the main character, I changed the story fir why they are on a new plant on a island. So I decided on Mimi and the player being researchers, trying to collect data and information this choice made a lot of sense to me as before Mimi had no real reason for being on the island.
There are more interactions and mechanics that the player get to do though out the story where they get interact with the world this addition is beduke I wanted to the player to appreciate the island with tasks and with the embodied player they get to respect the island by doing right things whereas Mimi does the opposite and does the wrongs things. Showing how to approach foreign culture, food and land etiquette the correct way though the player as they learn, emphases why I need this story to be in VR.
