Week 3: D.I.E

liner story (Rough draft)

  1. We see the main character (Mimi) wake up on a sunbed, she gets up and starts to explore the the scenic island, with it’s pink sand and unusual characterises.
  2. While walking Mimi gets startled by native creatures in the far distance, but she continues to go to the field of fruit and vegetation. Which have trees that resemble palm trees scattered in the field.
  3. Abruptly a coconut falls in front of Mimi nearly hitting her
  4. She picks up the fallen coconut which is has a small crack, Mimi opens it thinking it like a earth coconut but she gets attacked by bugs that where in the coconut.
  5. Mimi runs away from the field of flowers and vegetation, fleeing from the attacking bugs. Mimi finds herself being hungry but refuses to anything that doesn’t respect earth food.
  6. Failing in finding food Mimi finds shelter in a cave, she sleeps but wakes from the blue glow of the crystals in the cave. She takes some crystals for herself but quickly after yellow eyes from small monkey like creatures start to open and emerge from the dark towards Mimi.
  7. They attack her. Mimi runs out the cave and into the woods where the monkey like creatures stay on the tops of the trees. Mimi goes to the lake near the woods and where some of the trees are in the lake, she cleans her wounds and washes the blood when her open wounds quickly heal only not leaving a scar.
  8. Mimi decides to give the food a try and is surprised at the taste, and she starts to explore with a new perspective.
  9. Mimi starts to change physically, becoming one with the island.

In terms of the player involvement in the story they are spectating but also helping the story to progress, with interactions but the main character does not interact with the player. As my idea is that the player is like a ghost and things happen to Mimi because of the player interactions. However, I do not feel 100% about the players involvement within the story as they are just watching things happen to Mimi and does not justify why this story needs to be in VR.
