Week 1 : CVR

VR Ideas

  1. Game experience where you choose a portal with one word that describe the portal (each portal inspired by the 4 seasonal weather) the player gets transported into their chosen portal and have to play a game where they collect objects by each season.
  2. VR experience where the player is invited to explore a secret garden, within the garden the atmosphere is magical and dreamlike it’s a place to feel immersed in. However, the player is taken out of the experience with a bee obstructing the player’s view and sound.

After discussing my ideas and thinking about the logistics I came to the conclusion to continue with the second idea, my reason for this is I can really focus working on the 360 degree environment to convey the dreamlike feeling in VR. Also, as this is very new to me I really wanted to simplify things for me so that I can learn along the way.

By the end of this module is want to at least have these things in my VR experience:

  • Detailed and cohesive level design
  • Bee that successfully obstructs the players view (If time and skill level permit it feedback when hitting the bee)
  • Sounds that help aid the ambience
  • Player is able to explore with smoothness with little to no delays

If I successfully complete those and have time I want to add:

  • Trigger Area for different space of the garden
  • Player able to hit bee away
  • Tutorial scene
